Sprinter Ben Johnson For `Dancing With The Stars?`

CaribWorldNews, NEW YORK, NY, Fri. May 28, 2010: Will former 100 meters world record holder Ben Johnson appear on next season`s `Dancing With The Star?`

Johnson this week hinted at a possible stint on next season`s `Dancing With The Stars` in Europe.

`They contacted me a few days ago about `Dancing With The Stars.` Hopefully they will select me. I won`t know until mid June` an elated Johnson disclosed this week, according to an interview with TV reporter/author Sandy Daley who caught up with him at the Track & Field Center in Toronto.

This week the one time fastest man on the planet spoke about the use of performance enhancing drugs in athletics and his other projects at the inaugural CLM TV Sports Symposium to be held at the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture in Harlem, New York on Thursday May 27th.

During his athletics career, he set consecutive 100 meters world records at the 1987 World Championships in Athletics and the 1988 Summer Olympics. At the 1982 Commonwealth Games in Australia he won two silver medals. Two years later at the Los Angeles Games, he won the 100-m bronze medal behind Carl Lewis with a time of 10.22. A year later he whipped his arc rival at the 1986 Goodwill Games, where he ran 9.95.

He also won Commonwealth gold at the 1986 games beating Linford Christie in the 100-m and later broke the seven-year old world record in the 60 meters with a time of 6.50 seconds.
